In-State ID & Birth Certificate Vouchers
Identification and driver’s licenses are important documents for getting housing, jobs, and public benefits. Through the Colorado ID Project funded by the state of Colorado, Metro Caring can provide you with a voucher to redeem at the DMV or appropriate office. Vouchers will waive the regular fees for an identification (ID), driver’s license, or birth certificate.
Program Updates & Availability
MAY 28, 2026: Vouchers are currently unavailable until further notice. The number of vouchers we can distribute is determined by the budget set forth by the Colorado ID Project. We have redeemed all vouchers within the current budget provided to us by the state. We will provide updates here.
Colorado State Documents
For Colorado-state ID, driver’s license, and birth certificate requests, vouchers are available at Metro Caring during our Fresh Foods Market hours without an appointment.
The back of your voucher will list which DMVs accept vouchers as payment.
DMV at Metro Caring
DMV2GO visits Metro Caring once a month to offer a limited number of IDs on site. Please bring the necessary documents to receive an ID. DMV2GO is first-come, first-served.
Not able to get to Metro Caring? Our ID, driver’s license, and birth certificate vouchers are available all over the state of Colorado.
Please note: Vouchers are not eligible for ID or license reinstatement fees.
Out-of-State Documents
Metro Caring is not currently able to provide vouchers for out-of-state documents. For out-of-state voucher requests, please visit our ID Project partners at Colorado Legal Services and Holy Ghost Ministries.
