Grants Manager
Reports To: Director of Development
Location: 1100 E. 18th Ave., Denver, CO 80218
Schedule: Metro Caring currently operates on a four-day work week, Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays as needed.
Compensation: $68,000 – $75,000 full-time, exempt, annual salary
The Grants Manager serves as the organization’s lead grant writer and primary steward of the grants pipeline, overseeing all phases of grant development, submission, tracking, reporting, and funder engagement. This position is responsible for managing a high-volume portfolio of grant opportunities while ensuring timely, accurate, and compelling proposals that advance organizational funding goals.
This role requires exceptional organizational and project management skills, and the ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines within a fast-paced environment. The Grants Manager works collaboratively across departments to gather information, develop persuasive unrestricted and restricted funding requests, coordinate site visits, steward funder relationships, and ensure full compliance with grant reporting requirements.
Using a thoughtful, strategic, and systematic approach, the Grants Manager maintains a robust funding pipeline, tracks progress through each stage of the grant’s life cycle, identifies and cultivates prospective funders, and ensures high-quality execution from prospect research through proposal submission, award management, reporting, and stewardship. This position does not supervise staff and is accountable for achieving grant revenue and submission goals while strengthening the organization’s overall grants infrastructure and funding sustainability.
Volunteer Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator

Schedule: Metro Caring currently operates on a four-day workweek with Fridays off. Most work takes place during standard office and market hours, with one evening shift required each week.
Compensation: $30.04-$33.65 per hour, full-time, non-exempt (annualized range: $49,987-$55,994)
The Volunteer Recruitment & Outreach Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, supporting, and retaining volunteers while strengthening community engagement in support of Metro Caring’s mission to address hunger and advance food justice. This role oversees volunteer outreach, orientations, scheduling, communications, appreciation initiatives, and community partnerships to ensure a positive volunteer experience and adequate program coverage. The coordinator also manages volunteer data and records, supports process improvements, collaborates across teams, and serves as a key ambassador for Metro Caring’s values of equity, inclusion, and community-driven impact.
Food Access Steering Committee Member
People most impacted by an unjust and failing food system should be in positions to lead, shape, and drive community centered programs that exist to meet their needs. Metro Caring is looking to recruit 8 members for a Food Access Steering Committee composed of directly impacted community members and food producers. In collaboration with Metro Caring staff, the committee will help guide and support the Food Access program’s major projects and decisions.
