Fresh Foods Market
Our Fresh Foods Market is a grocery store-style market with nutritious, culturally specific foods available to our community at no cost. Appointments are required, but you do not need any identification, proof of need, or documentation to make a shopping appointment.
We prioritize stocking our shelves with fresh produce, diet-specific foods, meats, and dairy products. Most of our food is donated by local grocers, organizations, and individuals. Therefore, inventory in the Fresh Foods Market changes daily. We also purchase high-demand items from local Colorado producers, especially from farmers and ranchers who are Black, Indigenous, Latine, people of color, women, or first-generation producers.
Please note: Meat is currently limited to 1 package per shopping trip, due to a decrease in what we receive from the USDA’s The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).
How to Visit the Market
Step 1
Register a new account.
If this is your first time visiting Metro Caring, please create a new account by completing the Community Member Intake Form. Upon completion, it will automatically take you to Step 2.
If you have already completed our Intake Form in person or have shopped at Metro Caring before, move to Step 2 to log in.
Step 2
Schedule an appointment.
Appointment availability may be limited when demand is high. If no appointments are available online, please refresh in 15 minutes or check back next week. Appointments only become available one month in advance. More will appear each week.
If you do not want to make an appointment online, you may phone our volunteer call center at 303-860-7200 during Fresh Foods Market hours (at the bottom of this page).
Step 3
Visit us for your scheduled appointment.
Please review our Fresh Foods Market Policies below to know what to expect.

Fresh Foods Market Policies
- Households are welcome to shop up to every 4 weeks, as appointments are available.
- If you are unable to make your appointment, you can send another member of your household or a case manager.
- Each household with an appointment is welcome to fill two crates with groceries each trip. We kindly ask you to fill only two crates to ensure a more equitable selection for all shoppers throughout the entire day.
- Meat is limited to 1 package per shopping trip, due to a decrease in what we receive from the USDA’s The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).
- Eggs are currently limited to 1 dozen per household per shopping trip.
- Other high-demand or low-stock items (such as milk) may be limited to allow more households to take home needed groceries.
- We kindly ask that you bring your own bags or boxes to comfortably transfer your grocery items from our crates to your homes after checking out from our market. This helps us prioritize purchasing fresh, healthy foods over bags. And it’s a win for the planet too!
